How did you become homeless?
“It wasn’t a single thing that got me here. It’s a combination of things.”

What do you need to not be homeless?
“A chance.”
“People in the community to come forth and assist people like us to get out of homelessness.”

What would it take to not be homeless?
“Businesses to come forward and give on-the-job training.”

What do you need to maintain a home?
“A job.”
“A program to give us housing and someone to check in on us.”


If you had 2 million dollars, what would you put in place to end homelessness?
“Buy houses…for a transition program.”
“A factory…give people work and give them a part in the company so that they are part of it. Let them make it into something… Make it more than a hand out.”
“Rehabilitate us…like they rehabilitate prisoners…give us education, training…help those in hard times.”


How does it feel to be homeless?
“It’s been hard, scary, frustrating, and disappointing.”
“Homeless title makes us feel bad.”
“I feel like crying, but I am not going to cry.”
