It is understood that there is a need to keep the Word of God pure in every age. The truth was first defended in the book of Acts and thereafter in the following 300 years after Christ, the Church battled Gnosticism, Zoroastrianism and Manicheism - all heresy.
However, the movie "The Submerging Church" (photo) is basically one man laundry listing name after name of pastors and Christians - passing judgment on them and in the end apparently he's asking us to believe that he is the only person that's got it right.
Possibly a little humility and taking the low road in the making of a highly negative and critical movie would do justice to God's love rather than judgment and condemnation. For this reason I only gave it one star at Amazon. It was a painfully long movie to watch.
Thankfully, it does inspire us to go out and be more loving of our Christian family of all faiths; to seek them out, especially the weak, homeless, poor, feed them, hug them and be grateful - let God do the judging.
"Do not speak against one another, brethren. He who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks against the law and judges the law; but if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge of it. There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the One who is able to save and to destroy; but who are you who judge your neighbor?" (Cf. James 4:11-12)
Personally, I don't claim to have it right either. The only Truth I do know? God IS Love. (Cf. 1 John 4:8)
