COLD WEATHER DEADLY FOR THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA HOMELESS . . .

A retired policeman in Santa Barbara, CA once told me, "In a typical winter, the police respond to 6 or more hypothermia deaths among the homeless community."

Tonight, the homeless living in the areas of Santa Monica, Ventura and Santa Monica are trying to survive 31 degree freezing temperatures.  Palmdale, Lancaster and the Antelope Valley in the 20s overnight.  (The homeless in California are less likely to be prepared for this weather as their counterparts living in northern cities.)

We pray for each and remember to gift to the homeless food, blankets, jackets and water during the winter season . . .
