Poverty and Need are at the Core of the God-Experience

“The poorest of the poor will find pasture, and the needy will lie down in safety.” (Isaiah 14:30)
What is your poverty? Are you weak or vulnerable in a certain way? Willing to admit it? Those who look for God in their poverty and need find themselves encountering what many have longed to encounter, but did not and many have longed to see and hear but did not. Poverty and need are at the core of the God-experience. Suffering, trials, tribulations and even death will take us to that poverty if we do not voluntarily embrace it now.
Psalm 12
For the poor who are oppressed
and the groaning of the needy,
I will now arise," says the LORD.
I will protect them from those who malign them.

And the words of the LORD are flawless,
like silver refined in a furnace of clay,
purified seven times.

O LORD, you will keep us safe
and protect us from such people [the wicked] forever.
