At the end of life, when all is stripped away, what will you be left with deep down inside your soul? Death comes, then in an instant the car, the house and all possessions are wiped away. It is said, “Never have seen a Brinks truck at a funeral!”
Now is the time to gather riches for
heaven by giving openly and freely to the poor, donating to the work of God on
earth and performing works of mercy by visiting the sick in hospitals, nursing
homes and caring for the poor, especially the homeless.
Jesus said, “Do not store up for
yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves
break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where
neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal.” Mathew 6:19-20
