You will save us, Lord - from captivity to our dark thoughts, foggy reasoning and sinful stupidity

From the prison of selfish pursuits and shuttered hearts that block out the light of love,
- deliver us from evil. R

From the confinement of our wandering, forgetting and homelessness,
- deliver us from poverty. R

From captivity to our dark thoughts, foggy reasoning and sinful stupidity,
- deliver us from darkness into light. R

From chains that we still hold so tight, preferring captivity to liberty,
- deliver us from prison. R

From apathy and carelessness of the abandoned,
- deliver us from blindness. R
