Overlooked, Despised, Rejected, Hated, Persecuted, Crucified and that’s on a Good Day!

Today, a Facebook friend profoundly has reflected and laments . . . “It's no shock to learn that someone many overlook could be so compassionate. My son Alex is often overlooked by many and has so few friends. Yet, he is the kindest, most loving, and down to earth person I know. I wish more people would reach out to these angels on earth!”

It's very common to this very day - the compassionate, pure and humble ones are often overlooked at home and at work.  That is the exact story of Cain and Abel, the life of Joseph in the Old Testament, David the shepherd boy, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Amos, John the Baptist, Mary Magdalene, etc. - all of them rejected and overlooked and all of them prefigured the compassion, purity and kindness of the Christ who was also not to be loved and adored but abandoned, despised, rejected, tortured and crucified by all for his pure affection.

In the true story, the book "Prayers for Bobby" (photo) a mom repents because of her aggression and judgment of a model, helpful, kind and loving son who ultimately commits suicide because of her and the dad’s hostility toward his gay identity.  She later discovers after he appears to forgive her from the afterlife in the family's kitchen one day, that he was exactly what the Bible describes as “pure of heart – for they shall see God”.  Unfortunately, these types of individuals usually get judged and ultimately crucified.

St. Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 1:27, “God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God has chosen the weak to shame the strong.”

Please join the Servants of the Father of Mercy team today by calling (310) 595-4175 and plan a time for yourself, family and friends to join with us to go out and deliver water, food, clothing, shoes, rosaries and more to the 70,000 + poor homeless who are misjudged, despised, rejected, lost and forgotten in the So Cal region.
